Personal Trainers
Like mobile phones and DVD recorders, personal trainers have moved from being an expensive luxury for the fortunate few to an everyday, affordable service everyone can use.
There are all sorts of reasons why you might use a personal trainer: -
Preparing for a race
-
Trying to lose weight
-
Recovering from an injury or surgery
-
New to exercise or starting back after a long break
-
Pre or post natal
-
Need motivation
-
Improve sports performance
Whatever your reason, there are certain steps you'll want to go through to be sure you find the personal trainer who is right for you. It's worth talking to a few to see which one is best for you. Each will have different areas of expertise and different personalities, so look for one who has experience in the specific area you need, whether it's rehab, post natal or trying to lose weight.
All fitness professionals should have qualifications, first aid certification, liability insurance and testimonials from clients - steer clear of someone who doesn't provide all of these, no matter how cheap they are.
Finally, talk to them. They should inspire you, motivate you, and fill you with confidence both in their skills and your ability to progress. If they are dull or lack confidence, there's no way they will bring out the best in you.
If you find the right one, you will progress faster than you ever thought possible.
